Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's cross country team has earned a spot on the USTFCCA Division I all-academic team. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA. The Islanders had a team GPA of 3.28.
"It is an honor that required you to place well at the Regional Championship in cross country, we were 6th of 34 and to have a team average of about 3.00 GPA, ours 3.28," said cross country head coach Shawn Flanagan "The honor reflects proudly on the efforts of the women on the team and on the academic support system that is in place for athletics at TAMU-CC."
Members of the team include: Caitlin Arambula, Faith Barlow, Molly Bishop, BreAnna Briggs, Alex Bullard, Sarah De Los Santos, Courtney Johnson, Emily Jones, Melissa Jones, Meghan Lemke, Katie Levensailor, Shelby Nickels, Cara Patterson, Daniela Prado, Anne Ronoh, Sheila Salil and Kristine Torres.
Fellow Southland Conference members McNeese State, Stephen F. Austin and Central Arkansas were also named to the team.
