WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM EARNS SPOT ON USTFCCA DIVISION I ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's cross country team has earned a spot on the USTFCCA Division I all-academic team. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA. The Islanders had a team GPA of 3.28.

CROSS COUNTRY SIGNS TWO LOCAL RUNNERS
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi director of track and field/cross country head coach Shawn Flanagan announced the signing of two runners from right in the Islanders own backyard. Two runners from Carroll High School Justin Adame and Cecilla Gonzalez will join the team in the fall.

RONOH NAMED SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE CROSS COUNTRY STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
The Southland Conference has named Texas A&M-Corpus Christi senior Anne Ronoh cross country Student-Athlete of the Year. She is the first Islander to receive the award and joins UTSA's Dana Mecke (2008) and Lamar's Clerc Koenck (2007) as the only Southland women cross country runners to be named athlete of the year and student-athlete of the year.

RONOH RUNS AT NCAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR
Terre Haute, Ind. ? Texas A&M-Corpus Christi senior Anne Ronoh competed in her second straight NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course at Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. Ronoh finished in 188 with a time of 21:56.8.

ISLANDERS 6TH AND 12TH AT NCAA SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL, RONOH TO NATIONALS
WACO- Led by Anne Ronoh's sixth-place finish as an individual the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's finished sixth overall Saturday at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships hosted by Baylor. The Islander men placed 12th.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Cross Country senior Anne Ronoh has been named Southland Conference Athlete of the Year along with Lamar senior Francis Kasagule. In addition to Ronoh, the Islanders also placed freshman BreAnna Briggs on the all-conference team.

ISLANDER WOMEN COMPLETE THREE-PEAT, MEN FINISH FIFTH AT SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's cross country team won their third consecutive conference title on Saturday with the men finishing fifth overall in the team standings. Anne Ronoh finished first overall for the women with the winning time of 20:44.

SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi will once again host the Southland Conference Championships this Saturday at West Guth Park, with the men scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., while the women start at 9:15 a.m. It is the second time in three years the Islanders have hosted the event.

ISLANDERS HAVE GOOD SHOWING AT CHILE PEPPER FESTIVAL
The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi cross country teams traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the annual Chile Pepper Festival. Both teams had top 15 finishes with the women coming in at ninth out of 34 teams and the men placing 12 out of 29 teams.

The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi cross country program held their inaugural alumni race Saturday morning at West Guth Park. Seven alumni from the first ten years of the program took part, five men and two women ran with the teams.

ISLANDERS FINISH SECOND AND THIRD AT SPLASH
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's and women's cross country teams faired well in the 2009 Islander Splash with the men finishing second and the women in third. The top Islander for the men was Patrick Kemeli who was third overall and for the women, Anne Ronoh came in second.

CROSS COUNTRY RETURNS TO ACTION WITH ISLANDER SPLASH
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi cross country is back in action this weekend to host their annual Islander Splash. The Islanders will host several regional and conference teams on both the men's and women's side. In addition there will be over 3,000 middle and high school athletes competing.

VALLE MAKES IT BACK-TO-BACK SOUTHLAND CROSS COUNTRY ATHLETE OF WEEK HONORS
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi freshman Jordan Valle made it back-to-back weeks for the Islander cross country program taking Southland Conference Athlete of the Week honors. Valle and Ari Perez captured the award the previous week after winning the Islander Relays as a team.
