As an assistant to Graystone during four seasons at WTAMU, Potts helped guide the team to a pair of third-place finishes in the Elite Eight. The Lady Buffs amassed a record of 131-27 in her four seasons. Potts has also been a club coach in the Amarillo region, guiding her team to five-straight Junior National tournaments.

Potts graduated with a marketing degree from West Texas A&M in 2004 and received her MBA from the university in 2007.  With her degree, Potts assisted in the successful fund-raising efforts for the Lady Buffs during her time as an assistant coach.

Potts and her husband, Jim, reside in Corpus Christi with their daughter, Ella.
