Texas A&M – Corpus Christi senior outside hitter Jessica Korda will be playing in the final regular season match of her career on Saturday, and will be honored before the start of the match for her contributions to Islanders Volleyball.
The senior from Munster, Ind. has been a four-year player for the Islanders, and has worked her way into the record books as a member of the program.
Korda's 751 kills make her fifth all-time in career kills while her 2,478 attacks are also fifth among all players in program history. She is eighth in single-season kills after totaling 309 as a sophomore and ninth all-time in kills per set with a mark of 2.34 in her career.
The lone senior on the roster, Korda has seen the Islanders go from just four wins as a freshman to a high of 14 last season as she has helped build the program under third-year head coach Tony Graystone.
Texas A&M – Corpus Christi will be facing first-place Texas State on Saturday with a berth into the Southland Conference Tournament on the line. A win for the Islanders means just the second trip to the tournament in school history, while a win for the Bobcats will clinch the regular season Southland Conference Championship and No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament.
