The second set started with the Islanders taking a 3-0 lead on a kill by Isabella Arcidiacono and a service ace by Nolan. Jessica Korda recorded her first kill of the match to make it 6-5 lead just a few moments later, and Bourque added a solo block to once again break a tie and give her team a 7-6 lead. The back-and-forth scoring went on until the Roadrunners added four in a row on the way to a 14-10 lead and an Islanders timeout midway through the set.

Out of the break, a UTSA service error and a kill by Korda and a pair by Alverson tied the score at 14-14 as the Roadrunners called their first timeout of the match. Once they returned to play, a kill apiece by Korda and Bourque gave the Islanders a 16-14 before UTSA broke the streak to make it 16-15. After a kill from Alverson extended the lead back to two, the Roadrunners tied the score at 17-17 before a service error gave the Islanders an 18-17 advantage. UTSA followed with an 8-1 run to eventually take a 25-19 set for a 2-0 lead.

Arcidiacono opened the third set with a kill for the Islanders before UTSA scored the next four points to take the early lead. A service error by the Roadrunners put the score at 4-2 and an attack error pulled Texas A&M – Corpus Christi to within a point at 4-3 before UTSA scored again. The margin expanded to 8-3 before a pair of kills from Alverson and a Roadrunner attack error made it 8-6. A UTSA run extended the lead to 12-7 as Graystone called a timeout to settle his team down. Out of the break the teams played fairly even as UTSA extended their lead to 21-14 late in the set. The Islanders went on a 6-3 run to pull within 24-20 before falling by a 25-20 final.
