The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi volleyball team will wrap-up its pre-conference schedule this weekend as it takes part in the Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by the College of Charleston. The Islanders will face North Florida in a 9 a.m. match and the host Cougars at 1 p.m. on Friday at the TD Arena before matches against UNC Wilmington at 9 a.m. and Wyoming at 1 p.m. on Saturday to complete action in the tourney.
The team comes into the weekend with a 6-5 record after a tough, 3-2 win over UTPA on Tuesday night. College of Charleston is 4-6 on the season while UNC Wilmington is 5-6, UNF is 4-4 and Wyoming is 6-4 this year. It will be the first-ever meeting against College of Charleston, UNC Wilmington and North Florida while the Islanders are 0-1 all-time against Wyoming.
Texas A&M – Corpus Christi will be led into the weekend by Brianna Brink and Brooke Alverson. Brink leads the team with a team-high 96 kills while Alverson is tops in hitting percentage at .234 and is second with 89 kills. Logen Bourque is leading the Islanders with 372 assists and Micah Nolan has a team-high 209 digs while Brink is second with 103. Alverson and Nolan are tied for the team lead with 13 service aces this season.
