The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi volleyball team will be packing up and heading to Arlington for the first of two road matches to end the regular season. The Islanders will take on the UT Arlington Lady Mavs on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to San Marcos for the season finale on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
A&M - Corpus Christi currently sits at 12-16 on the year overall and are 5-9 in Southland Conference matches. UT Arlington is 14-14 overall and 8-6 in league play. The Islanders are currently tied for eighth place in the conference standings with the top eight qualifying for the Southland Conference Tournament following the regular season.
Emma Ridley will be making her final stand as an Islanders player. She currently one of the top offensive players in the Southland, ranking first with a 3.91 kills per set average and coming in second in the league at 387 total kills. She currently leads both categories in conference-only matches at 4.35 kills per set and 235 total kills. Freshmen Micah Nolan and Logen Bourque are finishing up strong inaugural seasons on the Island. Nolan is fourth in the Southland in digs with 4.64 per set and 459 overall while Bourque is seventh in assists with 8.99 per set and 917 total on the year. Both total marks are new Islanders freshmen records as the duo have helped improve the program from their 9-22 mark last season to its current 12-16 record.
For the Lady Mavs, Amanda Aguilera is the top hitter on the team. She has totaled 305 kills on the year and is averaging 3.47 kills per set for the season. Raegan Daniel leads the team in assists with 979 while Alicia Shaffer is the top defensive player on the team with 535 digs.
