The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi volleyball team will be back in action on Thursday night when they travel to San Antonio to take on the UTSA Roadrunners in a Southland Conference match.
The Islanders are 11-11 on the year and 4-4 in league matches. UTSA sits at 13-9 on the year and is in second place overall with a 7-1 conference record.
After A&M - Corpus Christi beat Texas - Pan American on Tuesday night to even their season record, they get back into Southland play trying to avenge an earlier loss to the Roadrunners in the Dugan Wellness Center. In that match, the Islanders took an early 1-0 lead before UTSA won three-straight sets to take the win.
Emma Ridley leads her team in the match with a team-high 308 kills. She is first in the league for kills per set in both all matches and Southland-only contests. She is second in overall kills and first in kills for league-only matches. Logen Bourque leads in assists with 731 while Micah Nolan is first in team digs with 351 on the year.
For UTSA, Kendra Rowland leads the team with 241 kills on the year, followed closely by Whitney Walls at 211. The team has six players in triple-digit kills on the year. Kelsey Jewasko is tops in digs with 467 and was named Southland Defensive Player of the Week three times in-a-row last month. Kelsey Schwirtlick has 767 assists on the year, tops among Roadrunners.
