ISLANDERS LOSE REGULAR SEASON FINALE TO BOBCATS
The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team lost their final match of the 2009 season in three to Texas State (25-19, 27-25, 25-22). With the defeat the Islanders finish with a record (9-22, 2-14) and the Bobcats improve to (19-12, 13-3).
TAMUCC gave a valiant effort in the last match of the season against the Bobcats. In the first set the match was tied at four different points with the final six points coming from the visitors. Emma Ridley recorded five kills in the opening set.
Not going down without a fight the Islanders went back and forth with the visitors from San Marcos. Late in the set Texas A&M-Corpus Christi led by a 24-23 but couldn't close the deal falling 27-25.
Much like the first two sets the third, was equally as close with Texas State nipping past the home team by a 25-22 score. Jessica Korda record five kills in the final set with Courtney Wypiszynski recording 14 assists.
Ridley finished with 19 kills and Korda 13, Wypiszynski had a match high 36 assists.
