ISLANDER VOLLEYBALL CONTINUES FINAL ROAD TRIP OF SEASON

The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi volleyball team continues its current road trip on Tuesday night when they travel to San Antonio to take on UTSA in a Southland Conference match. Match time is set for 6:30 PM.

The Islanders are coming off a closely battled 3-2 (25-11, 23-25, 19-25, 25-13, 15-12) match on Halloween night against Sam Houston State and now sit at 7-19 overall and 0-11 in Southland Conference matches. The Roadrunners of UTSA are 9-16 overall and 4-7 in Southland action.

The Islanders will be led into the match by Emma Ridley, who broke the single-season kills record in the match against Sam Houston State and now sits at 387 on the year. The previous high was 373, set back in 2002 by Lauren Smith.

Ridley is also second in the conference in both kills (387) and kills per set average (4.16) while also holding the second spot in conference-only matches kills per set (4.10).

TAMUCC will be looking for its first conference win and to break its current losing streak heading into their final road games of the year. After playing UTSA on Tuesday, the Islanders travel to Louisiana to take on Southeastern Louisiana on Friday, Nov. 6 in Hammond and Nicholls State on Saturday, Nov. 7 in Thibodaux. The team then returns the following weekend to host UT Arlington on Nov. 13 and Texas State on Nov. 14 in the final game of the season.
