WOMENS TENNIS DROPS 5-2 DECISION TO TEXAS STATE

The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis team could not get back on track Saturday afternoon, losing a 5-2 dual match to the Texas State Bobcats at the HEB Tennis Center.

The Islanders move to 6-6 on the season and drop to 2-3 in the Southland Conference. The Bobcats improve to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in Southland matches.

The Islanders lost all three doubles matches to open the dual match. At No. 1 doubles, Doris Kuselj and Megan Harless lost 8-5, Bianca Discordia and LeAnne Mascall fell 8-7 at the No. 2 spot and the team of Nadia Filmalter and Adrienne Kovacs lost 8-6 at the No. 3 position.

In singles, Kuselj won her match at No. 1 singles by a 6-3, 6-3 final while Mascall also won, taking a 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 win at the No. 4 spot. Discordia lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2, Kovacs fell 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3, Harless lost 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 5 spot and Filmalter took a 6-1, 6-3 defeat in No. 6 singles.

The Islanders return to action tomorrow at 11 AM when they take on UT Arlington at the Corpus Christi Country Club.
