The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's tennis team has three members competing in the ITA regional being held on the campus of TCU.
In singles action, Alexandra Dyckman has had an impressive showing, winning two matches on the opening day against competitors from Louisiana-Lafayette and North Texas in early competition.
Dyckman started the day off against Brigette Marcovich from ULL. Dyckman beat Marcovich in three sets by a score of 6-1; 5-7; 6-4.
In the round of 32, Dyckman was pitted against Ashley Akin of UNT. Dyckman once again came out on top, taking the match in two sets, 7-6; 7-5. Dyckman will face off against Lynley Wasson from the University of Houston at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 24.
In other singles action, Alexandra Valarezo fell in the first round against Katalina Cruz from UNT by a score of 4-6; 6-2; 7-5.
In doubles action, Dyckman teamed up with fellow Islanders Erika Iriarte against Kylie Adamek and Sloane Mathis from LSU. The Islander duo made quick work of the duo, winning the match by a score of 8-1.
The pair will take on Vanja Corvic and Marija Milic from the University of Texas in doubles action set for 12 p.m. on Friday.
