LAKEWOOD RANCH, FLA. – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi golf team will embark on its final event of the fall season with the 35th Annual FIU Pat Bradley Invitational from Oct. 21-23. The event will run three days, with 18 holes slated for each day at Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club. The Cypress Links course is set up for a par-72 with a length of 6,261 yards.
There will be 14 teams taking part in the event this season, with the Islanders being joined by host Florida International along with Bethune-Cookman, Boston College, Bradley, Cincinnati, Daytona State, Delaware, Drake, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, South Dakota and Western Illinois. FIU (#60) and Boston College (#95) are both currently in the top 100 of the Golfstat.com rankings.
All three rounds will feature a shotgun start, with Sunday's and Monday's action slated to begin at 9:30. The final round on Tuesday will commence at 9 a.m. This is the Islanders' fourth trip to the Pat Bradley Invitational, which is one of the longest running and most prestigious women's college golf tournaments.
The Islanders are coming off their finest performance of the fall, taking second place at the Harold Funston Invitational, hosted by Sam Houston State, on Oct. 8-9. Sophomore Vanessa Johnson collected medalist honors with a three-round 214 to lead the pack, while junior Krista Fenniak was just five shots back in third place overall. Those two will be joined by seniors Nikki Dunn and Taylor Slagle and junior Lindsay Biehler at this week's event, with the top four scores of each round counting toward the team total.
