CORVALLIS, ORE. – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi golf team will open its 2012 fall season on Monday, Sept. 17, at the Oregon State Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event will be held at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, with 16 teams competing in the event.
Trysting Tree will play to a par-72 and at a length of 6,141 yards for the Invitational. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with the final 18 holes set for Tuesday. This will be the first time that Oregon State has hosted its own event since 2006.
The field will consist of 90 players, with 16 teams of five and 10 individuals competing in the event. The 16 teams are:

The Islanders' lineup will consist of seniors Nikki Dunn and Taylor Slagle, juniors Lindsay Biehler and Krista Fenniak and sophomore Vanessa Johnson. All five players in the lineup – and all seven players on the team – return from last season. Dunn will begin her round on the 13th hole, with Biehler and Johnson starting on 14 and Slagle and Fenniak teeing off at the 15th.
The first day of the event will be a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday's action will start at 8 a.m., with groups teeing off on both the 1st and 10th holes. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com for all three rounds of the event.
