CORPUS CHRISTI - Rising senior Ryann White of the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi took home the title at the Women's Texas Golf Association Four-Ball Championship this week. White and her teammate and former high school coach, Marian Barker, shot a two-round 130 (64-66) to take the title by five strokes.
White and Barker took a two-shot lead into the second round after leading all teams with a 64, then surged to the championship, finishing things off with a 66 on day two. The event was hosted at the Blackhorse Golf Club's North Course in Cypress, Texas.
White was named Second Team All-Southland Conference in 2011 after being one of the leaders in scoring average and top-10 finishes. The sport management major was also named to the Southland Women's Golf All-Academic Team for her performance both on the course and in the classroom. She finished third at the Southland Championships in April after posting a third-round 71, the only sub-par round by any golfer in the tournament.
