White Second, Dunn Sixth at UALR Women's Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Ryann White

and Nikki Dunn both sit in the top six to lead the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi golf team to 11th place after two rounds of the UALR Women's Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club. White is in second place with a two-round 147 (74-73), while Dunn is just two shots back with a 149 (75-74).

The Islanders (311-309-620) are currently one shot out of ninth at the event and just seven shots out of the top six. Arkansas State (301-305) leads the way with a 606, while Missouri State is just two shots back at 608 (308-300). Texas A&M - Corpus Christi is just ahead of two other Southland teams, as Central Arkansas (313-309-622) is in 12th and Lamar (318-306-624) is in a tie for 13th.

White is just one shot off overall leader Laura Stempfle of Florida International, who leads the way with a 146 (74-72). White is one of three players at three-over-par, while Dunn is tied with three others at five-over.

In the opening round, White's two-over 74 put her in seventh place at the end of 18 holes. The junior shot 36 on the front and 38 on the back to lead the Islanders to a tie for 10th with an opening-round 311. Dunn was just one shot back at 75 (38-37) to finish in a tie for 12th through the opening 18. White led all players with four birdies in the opening round, while Dunn was tied for the lead with her minus-2 performance on par-5s.

Belser and Jeon finished out the scoring for the Islanders, as each player shot an 81 for the first 18. Belser had a 39 on the front and a 42 on the back, while Jeon reversed those scores. Reynoso shot an opening-round 96, but did not count for Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.

In the second 18, White had the fourth-lowest round, shooting a one-over 73. Dunn was just behind with a 74 to lead the Islanders. Belser shot an 80 in the third round, while Jeon had an 82. Reynoso cut 10 shots off her opening round score to round out the Islanders with an 86.

The third round of the UALR Women's Golf Classic will tee off at 8:30 a.m. CT in Hot Springs.
