Islanders ninth after first round, second round suspended due to darkness

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's golf team started off their final tournament of the fall on Monday at the MSU/Payne Stewart Invitational. Play was stopped in the second round due to darkness.

After one round of play, the Islanders were ninth overall as a team at the Highland Springs Country Club. Nikki Dunn shot an opening round 77 and was tied for 13th.

Ryann White and Katie Belser were tied for 38th after shooting matching 81's. Cecilia Jeon carded an 83 putting her in a tie for 46th.

Rounding out the first round scores for the Islanders was Christina Reynoso with a score of 91.

Tomorrow the tournament will start with the conclusion of the second round then play continues with the final 18 holes at the Highland Springs Country Club.
