Women's golf opens play at Dale McNamara Invitational

OWASSA, Okla. - Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's golf team opened play at the inaugural Dale McNamara Invitational. Monday was the first round of play at the new Patriot Golf Club in Owassa, Okla.

Ryann White had the low round of the day for the Islanders shooting a 78 to open the tournament tied for 42nd. Nikki Dunn was in a tie for 50th with the next lowest score after carding a 79.

Cecilia Jeon had a score of 85 and rounding out the line-up for A&M - Corpus Christi were Katie Belser and Lindsay Biehler each recording scores of 88.

"Today was a little disappointing, but we hope to learn from it," said assistant coach Phil Blackmar. "That's how you improve, by learning from your mistakes.

"So we hope we can turn this into a stepping stone for the rest of the year."
