WHITE CARDS CAREER-BEST 71 IN FINAL ROUND OF FALL
FT. MYERS, FLA. - Sophomore Ryann White recorded a 1-under 71 Tuesday as the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team concluded its fall season at the Pat Bradley Invitational hosted by Florida International at the Pelican Reserve Golf and Country Club.
White's 71 bettered her previous best at A&M-Corpus Christi by two shots and was tied with several golfers with the second-best round of the day. Missouri State's Stacey Rodgers had a the top round with a 2-under 69. The sophomore posted a 73 in the opening of the Islanders previous tournament at Sam Houston State. White concluded the tournament with a 222 (74-77-71) to finish 15th overall at 6-over par and recorded six birdies in the final 18 holes.
Courtney Peeler and Cecilia Jeon posted final rounds of 77 and 78. Peeler finished with a 233 (75-81-77) and Jeon had a 234 (79-77-78). Chelsey Watkins struggled in her final round for the Islanders, who played with just four golfers, with a 95.
As a team, the Islanders finished 15th with a score of 945 (310-314-321). Furman won the team title by seven strokes over South Florida with an 870. South Florida's Shena Yang won medalist honors at 8-under by three strokes.
