ISLANDER GOLF OPENS SPRING AT MCNEESE STATE TOURNEY

The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team opens its spring slate this Saturday and Sunday as it competes at the Koasati Pines Collegiate Classic in Lake Charles, La.

The tournament is the first of six this spring and is the first of two events the Islanders will compete at in Lake Charles as the Southland Conference Championship will be held there later this spring. It is the second straight season that the Islanders have competed in the tournament.

This year's tournament field will consist of eight Southland Conference teams along with South Alabama, Toledo, Louisiana-Monroe, Centenary, Houston Baptist, Florida Gulf Coast, McClennan Community College and Redlands College.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday both days having an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
