TEMPE, Ariz. ? A magical season for the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team came to an end on Saturday as the NCAA West Regional concluded at the Karstens Golf Course at Arizona State.

ISLANDERS TRIM 12 SHOTS OFF FIRST DAY SCORE IN SECOND ROUND
TEMPE, Ariz. ? The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team shot its second-best round of the season on Friday in the second round of the NCAA West Regional at Karstens Golf Course firing a 303. The Islanders will tee off late in Saturday's third round between noon and 1 p.m. Mountain time.

PEELER FIRES 75 FOR ISLANDERS IN FIRST ROUND OF REGIONAL
TEMPE, Ariz. ? The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team opened its first trip to the NCAA West Regional with a round of 315 led by junior Courtney Peeler's team-best 75 on Thursday at Karstens Golf Course on the campus of Arizona State.

ISLANDER GOLF SET TO BEGIN PLAY AT NCAA WEST REGIONAL IN TEMPE
After participating in Wednesday's practice round, the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team makes history Thursday when the first round starts at the NCAA West Regional in Tempe, Ariz. at the Arizona State Karsten Golf Course when it becomes first team in the golf program's to play in a regional. The course is a Par-72, 6,230-yard course.

BLACKMAR NAMED SLC COACH OF THE YEAR, TEAM HEADS TO TEMPE
After leading her team to the Southland Conference Championship in women's golf, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf coach Carol Blackmar has been named the league's Coach of the Year. Junior Ashley Watkins was a second-team All-SLC selection for the second straight season.

ISLANDER GOLFERS SECOND AFTER 36 HOLES AT SLC CHAMPIONSHIP
LAKE CHARLES, La. ? The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team picked the best time of the year to post its best 36-hole total of the spring firing a 612 (308-304) through two rounds to finish the opening day of the rain-delayed Southland Conference Championship in a tie for second with UTSA one-shot behind host McNeese State on Tuesday at the Lake Charles Country Club.

LAKE CHARLES, La. ? The 2009 Southland Conference Women's Golf Championship came down to the final hole on Wednesday with the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team down two shots to UTSA as the final threesome approached the 18th hole.

SLC GOLF TOURNAMENT MOVES DUE TO BAD WEATHER
Due to poor conditions, the Southland Conference golf tournament has been moved from Koasati Pines Golf Course in Kinder, La. to Lake Charles Country Club. The tournament will be moved back a day with the change. The teams will have a practice round on Monday with the first 36 holes of the tournament on Tuesday. The final 18 holes will be played Wednesday.

The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi golf team heads to Louisiana this week for the Southland Conference Tournament hosted by McNeese State. The event was originally slated for Koasati Pines Golf Course in Kinder, but has been moved to the Lake Charles Country Club.

Waco - The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's golf team finished in 11th place on Tuesday with a three-round score of 956 at the Baylor Spring Invitational, held at the Twin Rivers Golf Club in Waco. The top finisher for the Islanders was Courtney Peeler in a tie for 27th place.

ROCKPORT ? Freshman Ryann White shined on the first day of Stripes Islander Classic with rounds of 75 and 78 to end the first of day of the tournament in seventh combining with the rest of her Texas A&M-Corpus Christi teammates to finish the day eighth out of 15 teams.

The annual Stripes Islander Classic Golf Tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday at the Rockport Country Club in Rockport with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. The final round of 18 holes will be Tuesday at 8:15.
