Myeisha Myles Named GoIslanders.com Student-Athlete of the Week

CORPUS CHRISTI – Texas A&M - Corpus Christi women's basketball player Myeisha Myles has been named the GoIslanders.com Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Pepsi. Myles earned the award following her performance last week at Indiana.

In the team's only game of the week, Myles powered the Islanders with her seventh double-digit scoring game of the season with a team-high 19 points and grabbed five boards, Tuesday, Dec. 27, against Big Ten foe Indiana. 

The New Orleans, La. native also added three blocks and two steals in 25 minutes of play in the Islanders 80-58 loss. The fifth-year senior is leading the team with an average of 11.2 points per game, 7.3 rebounds a game and has a total of 14 blocks this season.

Myles and the women's basketball will open the New Year this Saturday, Jan. 7 against McNeese State in Lake Charles, La. to begin Southland Conference action. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
