What’s Done is Dunn: Vol. 1, Issue 5

Islander Fans,

First off Happy 21st Birthday to Verne'qua Taylor (aka NeNe). Have a good one sweetie!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. The New Year is coming up, everyone be safe!

After we got back from SMU I spent the holiday season with Jessica Jammer aka Jam in Houston with her family. I had so much fun and I actually ate tons of food believe it or not! Her aunt was trying to feed us every 30 minutes. Shout out to Aunt G, Aunt Gayle and Grandma. It felt good to be around a family atmosphere while mine is away in Hawaii < family away from family.

We came back to Corpus Christmas night for practice and exchanged our secret Santa gifts. I had Trish Amboree aka Baby Tee. I got her a coin counter, four bags of candy and phase 10 cards. She loved it. Then Jam had me. What a coincidence. She got me make-up and as soon as I pulled it out I didn't want to look at anything else and even though she wasn't my secret Santa, I got her a spa deluxe kit to relax in the tub.

Here's what went down:

Sara Alva had Zoe Vega-Vega

Myeisha Myles had Jam

Alisa Roberts (Lis) had Marquesha Anderson-Sparks (Q)

Q had Lis

Brandi Huff had NeNe

NeNe had Brandi

Damequia Montgomery (D) had Taryn Gregory (T)

Trish had D

T had Ashley Darley (Dar)

Dar had Sara

Zoe had Mye

We left on Monday for Indiana. It felt like a long trip but we had about two hours of downtime before practice at 7 p.m. EST. After practice we went to each other's rooms and we were tweeting and talking. Btw follow us on twitter @IslandersWBB

Tuesday we woke up to snow on the ground. I was so excited. I ran outside. I have been away from living in snow for seven years. -___- Once I get back to snow I feel like a kid again. Tehehe

We went to shoot around after breakfast at 11 a.m. and then went back to the hotel for pregame meal. Then we had about four hours to prepare for our game against the Hoosiers.

Game at 7 p.m. EST: we hung with 'em in the first half and cut the lead down to two at one point but let it slip away at the end. But conference is right around the corner and we are starting again at 0-0 at McNeese State on Jan. 7 in Lake Charles, La.

Now we are sitting in the Houston airport awaiting our 11:40 a.m. flight back to Corpus. This is what we do sitting in the airport:

Have a safe and Happy New Year and I'll be back on Jan. 8th. If any of you want to ask me questions you can email athletics@goislanders.com and I'll answer them in my next blog. Address the subject as Imani Dunn
