Islanders Women’s Basketball Begins First Full Week of Workouts

CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi 2011-12 women's basketball team is into its second week of official workouts. This season's team is made up of seven returners and seven newcomers, including three freshmen and four junior college transfers.

NCAA rules limit the coaches to two hours of on-court activity per week with each player and this week marks the first full week of workouts, which includes strength and conditioning and individual workouts.

Head Coach Robert Robinson, who is entering his sixth year as head coach, met up with Islanders Athletics to briefly talk some X's and O's about this season's team.

The Islanders open the 2011-12 season at home against Missouri on Sat, Nov. 12, at the Dugan Wellness Center.
