DAVIS AND SCOTT NAMED TO ALL-SOUTHLAND TEAMS

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball players Jade Davis and Adrienne Scott were honored by the Southland Conference on Monday morning, being voted to the All-Southland teams by the coaches and sports information directors.

Davis was voted to the first team while Scott was named honorable mention.

Davis, a junior from West Columbia, led the Islanders in scoring at 14.6 points per game and was seventh overall in the league and sixth during conference games only. She scored 20-plus points in a game eight times during the season and had 30-plus twice, third-most in the conference for both categories.

Scott, a junior from Waco, was second on the team in scoring with a 10.5 per game average and third on the team in rebounding with 6.0 per game. She scored a season-high 20 points against Texas-Pan American and had double-digit rebounds three times this season with a high of 14 against Texas Southern.

The honor for Davis is the third from the Southland after being named Third Team last year and was a preseason First Team pick this year. It is the first such honor for Scott.
