The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will travel to Hammond, La. for a Wednesday night Southland Conference game against the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions. Tip-off is set for 7 PM at the University Center.
The Islanders come into the game with a 17-8 record on the season and a 9-3 Southland Conference record. The nine Southland wins in a season are already the most in school history. The Lady Lions are 10-15 overall and 4-8 in Southland contests.
Jade Davis leads TAMUCC in scoring at 14.0 points per game while Adrienne Scott is the only other Islander in double-digit scoring at 10.9 per game. Elisa Beagle leads the team in rebounding at 8.2 per game. The Islanders have three other players averaging more than five rebounds a game with Deziree Green at 6.8, Scott at 6.3 and Myeisha Myles at 5.6 per game.
Rashima Jenkins leads the Lady Lions in scoring at a 9.5 per game clip. Zevy Ivory is the leading rebounder for SELA at 8.9 per game.
The Islanders are 2-2 all-time against the Lady Lions with SELA winning the last game between the two teams by a 76-72 win in overtime last season in Corpus Christi.
