The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will be looking to get back in the win column on Wednesday night when they take on Texas State in a Southland Conference game. Tip-off is set for 7 PM and will be played at Strahan Coliseum in San Marcos.
The Islanders come into the game with a 14-7 record overall and are now 6-2 in Southland Conference games. They lost their last game by a 61-58 final to Nicholls on the road. Texas State is 5-15 on the year, 1-8 in Southland competition. The Bobcats last game was a 77-70 loss to McNeese State on Saturday.
In the game against Nicholls, the Islanders led the Colonels by four points at halftime but were outscored 34-27 in the second half. The Islanders held Nicholls to 35 percent shooting but shot just 38 percent in the game themselves and missed 11 free throws to fall by a 61-58 final.
Jade Davis is leading the team with a 14.4 scoring average while Adrienne Scott is second with 11.6 points per game. Elisa Beagle is averaging 7.9 rebounds per game. Deziree Green is adding 7.0 per game while Scott averages 6.5 a contest.
Diamond Ford and Kelsey Krupa lead the Bobcats in scoring, each scoring 9.4 points per game. Victoria Davis is third in scoring with 8.6 average. The top rebounder on the Texas State team is Chika Ofoegbu at a 5.6 per game average and Aimee Hilburn is second with 5.3 rebounds a game.
