The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will be suiting up in special pink uniforms on Wednesday night when they take on the defending Southland Conference Champion UT Arlington Mavericks in a conference showdown. The uniforms will be a part of the annual Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Pink Zone game.

They are now 13-6 overall and 5-1 in Southland Games, their best start ever in the conference. UT Arlington sits at 8-11 on the year and 3-3 in Southland play.

In the game against Sam Houston State, the Islanders set two new career-highs against the Bearkats when Lauren Smith scored 17 points and Deziree Green grabbed 15 rebounds. They had both previously set their career-high in the categories against Texas State last season.
