The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will be looking to end the non-conference schedule on a high note this Wednesday, Jan. 6 when they take on the Texas-Pan American Lady Broncs at the American Bank Center. Tip-off is set for 7 PM on Stripes Court.

TAMUCC comes into the game with an 8-4 record while UTPA is 3-12 on the season.

The Islanders return home following a tough loss against TCU this past weekend in Fort Worth. They led at halftime, gave up a huge run to start the second half and then fought back to within two points before falling by a 78-74 final. Seniors Shaye Montgomery and Elisa Beagle both set individual records with their performances against the Horned Frogs.

Montgomery finished the game with 23 points and seven three-point shots. Those seven made threes broke her own TAMUCC record that was set last season. Beagle finished the game with 17 points and 15 rebounds to tally her 21st career double-double. That broke the tie she shared with Terra Andrews at 20 and gave her the all-time program record. It was also the third-straight game that Beagle had double-digit rebounds.

UTPA comes in looking for revenge after a game that went down to the wire earlier this season with the Islanders prevailing by a 61-60 score. Adrienne Scott just missed a career-high as she scored 20 points against the Lady Broncs to lead the team. Scott also came up with a key block in the final minute to keep the game within one point and setting up the winning basket by Jade Davis.

Davis comes into the game scoring 13.0 points per game average to lead the team. Scott is second with 11.4 per game while Beagle also averages double-digits at 10.3 per game. Beagle leads the team in rebounding at 9.0 rebounds per contest. Deziree Green is second with 6.8 and Scott averages 5.9 to round out the top three. Bianca Torre leads the Lady Broncs with 11.0 points per game and Aleeya Grigsby tops the team with 7.2 rebounds per game.

Steven King will call the action as the Islanders look to head into Southland Conference action on a winning note. The game will be on ESPN 1230 AM KSIX and will also be available on live stats and the Blue Zone by visiting
