The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball goes for five straight wins on Saturday, Jan. 2 when they take on the TCU Horned Frogs in the first game of the 2010 year. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM in Fort Worth at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

The Islanders come into the game with a 8-3 record, having won the past four games against Incarnate Word, Texas-Pan American, Houston and Colorado State. TCU is now 9-3 on the season and also comes into the game on a four-game winning streak.

TAMUCC is coming off a 70-58 win over Colorado State on Wednesday in which Jade Davis just missed tying her career-high in points when she scored 32 against the Rams. Elisa Beagle also picked up consecutive double digit rebounding games, following up her career-high 17 against Houston with 10 more boards against CSU.

It was the second time in three days the Islanders picked up their first win ever against a team. On Monday, they beat Houston after being 0-4 against them in previous meetings. The game against the Rams was the first between the two programs.

Davis' 32 points vaulted her back into the Islander scoring lead with her now averaging 13.7 per game. Adrienne Scott is also scoring in double digits at 11.9 per game. Leading on the glass is Beagle, averaging 8.5 on the season. Deziree Green is bringing in 7.4 per game while Scott is at a 6.4 average.

The Islanders and the Horned Frogs will be meeting for just the second time in the programs' history. TAMUCC is 0-1 in the series, losing a 62-56 contest to TCU during the 2001-02 season.
