The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will host UT Arlington for senior day at the American Bank Center on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 1 PM. The Islanders will honor senior Sarah Davidson for her contributions to the TAMUCC program.

This is an important game for the Islanders as they need a win to assure themselves a spot in the Southland Conference tournament. If TAMUCC were to lose, they would still make the tournament if Sam Houston State defeats Texas State.

The Islanders are coming off a huge win against Lamar to keep their SLC tournament hopes alive. TAMUCC won convincingly with a 71-55 final to put themselves back into position to decide their own fate.

Standing in their way is the UT Arlington Mavericks, the team currently in first-place of the division and looking to lock up the top seed with a win against the Islanders. They are currently 19-9 on the season and 13-2 in SLC action. The Islanders come into the game with an 11-17 record and a 6-9 SLC mark.

The Mavericks last played against Nicholls State, easily downing the Lady Colonels by a 91-55 final.

The Islanders are led in scoring by Davis with a 12.8 points per game scoring average. Myeisha Myles adds 10.1 points per game for the Islanders while leading the team in rebounding with an 8.3 rebounds per game average. The Mavericks top scorer is Candice Champion, who leads the team with an 18.0 scoring average.
