The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will look even their Southland Conference record and sweep the season series against Sam Houston State this Saturday in Huntsville. The Islanders beat the Bearkats on Jan. 31 at the American Bank Center by an 88-76 final.

The Islanders come into the game with an overall record of 9-13 and a 4-5 mark in SLC action. They are coming off a tough loss to Texas State, losing by four at 66-62 after being up by as many as 14 points in the second half.

The Bearkats come into the game with a 7-15 record overall and a 4-5 record in SLC games. The Bearkats last played at Nicholls State on Wednesday. They lost to Nicholls State by a 76-74, giving the Colonels their first win of the season. The Islanders hold a 8-1 lead in the all-time series.

The game is a key contest for both teams, as the winner will have an advantage in positioning in the SLC race. The two teams are currently tied for the seventh position in the standings with three weeks left in the season..
