The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will take part in the homecoming festivities this Saturday as they play host to the Nicholls State Colonels in a Southland Conference match up at the American Bank Center. Tipoff is set for 7 PM.

The Islanders look to rebound from a 88-62 road loss against UT Arlington this past Wednesday.

The loss dropped the Islanders record to 8-12 on the season and 3-4 in SLC action.

The Colonels are 0-19 on the season and 0-8 in SLC games. They are coming off a close loss to Stephen F. Austin by a 60-55 margin on the road this past Wednesday.

The Islanders hold a 2-0 lead in the all-time series. The last meeting saw the Islanders beat the Colonels 74-53 during their Feb. 14 game last season in Corpus Christi.

The Islanders are led in scoring by Jade Davis with a 12.0 scoring average. Myeisha Myles adds 10.4 points per game for the Islanders while leading the team in rebounding with a 7.0 per game average.

The Colonels top returning player is Christie Bryant, who leads the team with a 10.6 scoring average.

Before the game kicks off on Saturday, the university will be holding several events during the day leading up to the game.

The tailgaiting lot at the American Bank Center opens up at 10 AM, leading up to a university parade and shrimp boil starting at 5 PM in the tailgate lot. The parade route will run down Mesquite Street to the parking lot at the arena.
