COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Today's final game of the Texas A&M Invitational featuring the Islanders softball team against No. 13 Texas A&M has been rained out. The Islanders will now play the Aggies in a doubleheader on April 22.
A&M - Corpus Christi concludes the Invitational with a 1-3 record after picking up a shutout victory over Connecticut on Saturday. The Islanders collected their seventh double-digit hitting game of the season with 12 hits and freshman Liz Carter picked up her fourth victory of the season and limited the Huskies to just one hit in six innings. Freshman Brittney Morse also had a solid outing, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs to power the Islanders' bats.
The Islanders return home to open Southland Conference play on Friday, March 7, in a doubleheader against Central Arkansas at Chapman Field. The three-game series will continue on Saturday, March 8, with a single game.
