Top Moment #7: Softball Sweeps Doubleheader to Start Win Streak

After splitting the first four Southland Conference games during the season, the Islanders traveled to Conway, Ark. to take on Central Arkansas on the Bears' territory. The Islanders were at a slight disadvantage being the away team but that did not seem to matter as they took both games en route to their first conference sweep of the season.

In the first game, the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi softball team put together a huge sixth inning and scored one run in the eighth to edge the Bears 5-4 in extra innings. Senior Jordan Trujillo picked up the win in relief for Greta Cecchetti.

The second game had an interesting twist as the Islanders put together their biggest comeback of the season. Texas A&M – Corpus Christi rallied back after falling behind 6-0 in the second inning to score seven straight runs in their first Southland sweep of the season, 7-6.

It was the second consecutive game that the Islanders tallied 10 or more hits and their sixth conference victory of the season. The Islanders outhit Central Arkansas 13 to seven.
