Hello again Islander Fans!
Wow, have we had a busy week?! We made a trip to Houston on Tuesday to play a doubleheader vs. U of H and today we squared off against Houston Baptist! Thankfully, our game vs. HBU was here today, so we did not have to make another trip!
We didn't fair too well in Houston, our bats were a little cold. However, it is always nice to see a tough mid-week game. We are doing alright in confrence play, sitting at 8-4, but it's nice to see a team like Houston who we know have been to a Regional. They are a team we would see after winning the Southland Conference Tournament. We know where we struggled and where we will need to be by the time we see them again in about a month.
Today we got back on track and picked up a W! It wasn't by far the prettiest win we have had, but a win is a win! We know tomorrow, we will have to come out ready for Stephen F. Austin! I believe most would agree that if we play like we did today, the game will not go in our favor. We took an early loss against SFA in a tourney this year so we have some unfinished business to take care of! Come out tomorrow for a 2 p.m. start time and again Saturday at noon!
Thanks for keeping up!
I thought I would share this video of my teammate Greta Cecchetti and our softball athletic trainer Suzy Schock (serving as Greta's interpreter) as they give their thoughts on our two W's at Central Arkansas a couple weeks ago!
