Softball game pushed back due to weather delays

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi softball team will have to wait a little longer to start play in the 2011 Southland Conference Tournament after a rain delay has pushed back the slate of games on the opening day of the event.

The game originally scheduled for 1:30 p.m. between Texas State and Northwestern State has now been moved to a 5:30 p.m. start at the earliest with further delays possible depending on conditions.

That means that the earliest the Islanders game against No. 4 seed McNeese State would be played is at 8 p.m. from the Bearkat Softball Complex. McNeese advanced to the game by virtue of a 7-1 victory over the UTSA Roadrunners in the opening game of the tournament.
