Texas A&M - Corpus Christi evened it in the bottom of the fifth, scoring one run as Lauren Sanders singled and was followed by a Caley Jeter triple to right center field to score Sanders all the way from first base to make it a 1-1 ballgame.

The Bobcats threatened in the both the fifth and seventh innings, but inning-ending double plays stopped the Texas State rally.

The bottom of the seventh featured late-game heroics from the Islanders catcher as Tucker hit a walk-off single to give her team a 2-1 victory. The inning started off with Sanders picking up a single, her fourth hit of the game and sixth of the day, to start the rally. After a failed sacrifice bunt attempt, Kacie Smith doubled to left field to move Sanders over to third base. After a strikeout swinging put Texas A&M - Corpus Christi down to their final out, Tucker came to the plate and laced a 2-0 pitch down the right field line for the game-winning hit that allowed Sanders to score from third.

Sanders finished the game 4-for-4 while Hannah Schwarz, Jeter, Smith, Tucker, Cassie Redman and Laura Phillips had one hit apiece. Jeter and Tucker had the only two RBI for the team.
