The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team will travel to Houston on Tuesday for an afternoon doubleheader against the Prairie View A&M Panthers. The first game is scheduled for a 2 PM start with the second to follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the opening game.
The Islanders come into the game with a 25-17 record on the season after falling in three games to Sam Houston State this past weekend. The Panthers are 1-28 on the season and lost a pair of midweek games to the Islanders last Wednesday at Chapman Field.
Morgan Seals picked up her first win of the season while Addie Tallman won game two for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Offensively, the Islanders were led by Kacie Smith as she went 3-for-3 with four RBI in the two games. Melissa Casey and Caley Jeter also hit safely in each plate appearance while 10 batters hit at least .500 in the pair of non-conference contests.
On the season, Hannah Schwarz leads the team with a .392 batting average while adding 18 RBI. Brittany Tucker is tops on the team with 29 RBI to go along with her .305 batting average. The Islanders have eight batters in all that carry better than a .300 batting average on the year.
Jasmine Littles leads the Panthers with a .306 batting average while Kelli Scruggs leads her team with seven RBI on the season.
