The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team will play host to Prairie View A&M on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference doubleheader. The games are set to begin at 2 PM at Chapman Field.
The Islanders come into the game with a record of 23-14 overall and look to get back on the winning track after losing all three games in their Southland Conference series against the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks this past weekend. Prairie View has a record of 1-24 on the season.
Cassie Redman leads the team in batting average with a .402 mark while adding 15 RBI. Brittany Tucker holds the team lead with eight home runs and 28 RBI while batting .330 on the year. Hannah Schwarz fell just under the .400 mark this past weekend and now hits .397 with 18 RBI. Caley Jeter is third on the team in average at .363 and is second with 24 RBI this season.
Kelli Scruggs bats .315 and has seven RBI to lead Prairie View offensively. Kesha Haggerman is 4-for-4 in stolen bases to lead the team.
After the midweek tilt with the Panthers, the Islanders will play host to Sam Houston State on Saturday and Sunday at Chapman Field. The teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 PM on Saturday and will play a single game starting at 11 AM on Sunday morning.
