The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team will take to the road on Tuesday in a non-conference double header against the No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies in College Station.
The Islanders come into the game with a 15-6 record on the season. Last weekend, the Islanders went 2-1 against Central Arkansas to move their Southland Conference record to 3-3 on the year. The Aggies are currently 16-5 on the season.
TAMUCC looks to get a win over a ranked opponent for the first time this year after dropping two contests, including a 5-2 loss, to No. 10 Stanford at the beginning of the season.
The Islanders are led in hitting by Cassie Redman with a .458 batting average. Caley Jeter leads the team in RBI with 16 on the season, leading a group of five players with at least 10 RBI on the season. Second on the team is Brittany Tucker with 15, followed by Hannah Schwarz with 14, Kacie Smith has 13 and Meagan McKinney has 10 on the year to round out the group. As a team, the Islanders have 10 players hitting .300 or better on the season.
Elena Crabtree leads the pitchers with a 9-2 record on the year and a 3.08 ERA. Addie Tallman is second with a 5-3 record while Margo Hurdt rounds out the trio of pitchers with a 1-1 record.
