The Texas &M-Corpus Christi softball team will hit the road for the first time since the season-opening Paradise Classic in Hawaii when they travel to San Antonio to take on the UTSA Roadrunners. The Islanders and Roadrunners play twice on Tuesday starting at 5 PM and then a single game starting at 1 PM on Wednesday.

The Islanders enter the series with a 12-3 overall record and riding an 11-game winning streak. The Roadrunners are 4-10 on the season but have played several very close games, including against ranked opponents.

The Islanders come into the games as the hottest offensive team in the league and lead in several categories. As a team, they are first in batting average (.354), slugging percentage (.537), on-base percentage (.443), runs scored (98), hits (133), RBIs (89), total bases (202) and home runs (14).

Individually, Hannah Schwarz leads the team and the conference in hitting with a .465 batting average. TAMUCC also has four of the top RBI totals in the league with Brittany Tucker (13), Kacie Smith (12), Schwarz (12) and Caley Jeter (11). Cassie Redman also brings an 11-game hitting streak into the series, tied for second-longest in school history.

In the circle, Elena Crabtree leads the league with seven wins in seven starts, tossing a complete game in each of those outings. She is eighth in ERA at 2.89 and first with 14 batters struck out looking while her 33 total K's are good for eighth in the league.

The Islanders hope to keep the streak going and start off the Southland schedule strong with the midweek series. Fans can follow the contests by visiting and going to the softball schedule page to watch live stats.
