FIRST PITCH DINNER A SUCCESS FOR ISLANDER SOFTBALL

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team hosted their second annual First Pitch Dinner on Friday, Jan. 15 in the University Center Ballroom. The dinner featured Brenda Marshall, current Corpus Christi ISD athletic director and a former member of the first women's softball team to represent the United States in the Pan American Games.

"I thought the event went as good as it could go," said softball head coach Jake Schumann "Coach (Teresa) Flores, did an excellent job in organizing, promoting and executing the dinner. It was an ideal night to showcase our program to the community and our team to meet the community,"

Proceeds from the dinner serve as one of the major fundraisers for the softball program, in addition it helps in raising proceeds for scholarships, travel, equipment and related expenses.

"Our hope is that this dinner becomes a staple for Islander softball for years to come," added Schumann.
