The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team will finish off its fall schedule this weekend as they host Texas A&M International in a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Game times are set for 12 PM with the second to follow at 2 PM.
With a 3-1 record through the first four games of the fall, the Islanders will look to continue to improve while facing outside competition.
TAMUCC has displayed improved power from a season ago and has also added speed to the lineup this year.
"We're going to look to continue to do what we've been doing, I'm pretty happy with our offense," said head coach Jake Schumann. "Defensively, I'm really impressed with a lot of kids.
"Our outfield is probably the quickest outfield I have ever had."
Pitching is the biggest focus going into games as the team tries to be more consistent from the circle.
"I'd like to see us clean up pitching a little this weekend," said Schumann. "I want to see Alex Hutchinson and Elena Crabtree do little bit better than they have been.
"Addie Tallman has been outstanding all fall and has been the most consistent."
Admission is free to Chapman Field for the softball games and fans are encouraged to head over to Dugan Wellness Center for the volleyball game at 4 PM as the Islanders take on Northwestern State.
