Texas A&M-Corpus Christi designated player Margo Hurdt capped off her great weekend by taking home the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week award on Monday.

Hurdt powered the Islanders to a series win against UT Arlington, belting two home runs and knocking in five RBI in the three game set. The Boerne, Texas, native was a perfect 3-for-3 in the first game with a home run and three RBI while drawing a walk and scoring two runs. She recorded at least one RBI and one hit in each game of the series to hit for a .667 batting average for the week with a 1.333 slugging percentage.

Hurdt has now hit four home runs on the season while driving in 32 runs, tops on the Islander team in RBIs.

The award is the second of the year for the Islanders, as Larissa Martin was named Hitter of the Week on February 17.

Hurdt will try to continue her hot streak as the Islanders are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Houston Baptist. The teams will play a doubleheader starting at 1:00 PM at the home field of the Huskies.
