ISLANDERS TRAVEL TO UT ARLINGTON FOR KEY SLC SERIES

The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team will travel to Arlington this weekend as they get back into Southland Conference action against UT Arlington on Saturday and Sunday.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1:00 PM and a single game on Sunday starting at 1:00 PM.

The Islanders come into the game with a record of 16-28 overall and 7-13 in SLC play. The Lady Mavs are 20-19 on the year and 14-10 in SLC games.

TAMUCC will be looking to gain some ground in the SLC standings this weekend as they continue their quest to qualify for the conference tournament to be held on May 7-9 in Lake Charles, La. on the campus of SLC member McNeese State.

The Islanders come into the game led in hitting by senior Larissa Martin. Martin is hitting .322 with 17 RBI on the year. Freshman Alaina Byars has collected 28 RBI for the team to lead them in the category while Margo Hurdt is right on her heels with 27 RBI. Byars also leads the team in homeruns with six on the season.
