The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi softball team will host Dayton, Loyola-Chicago, Minnesota and Pittsburgh in the Islander Invitational starting Friday morning at 9 AM. Loyola-Chicago will be kicking off their season while Dayton comes in at 2-2, Minnesota at 4-7 and Pittsburgh at 1-4.

The Islanders are 5-6 on the season after taking 5-of-6 home games this past week, including a pair of games against Houston Baptist at Chapman Field last Tuesday and 3-of-4 in the Corpus Christi Invitational this past weekend.

Larissa Martin leads the Islandes with a .333 batting average and seven RBI. Martin Garnered the Southland Conference Hitter of the Week award this past week. Addie Tallman leads the Islanders in the pitching department with a 3-2 record and a 1.58 ERA. Tallman recorded a 3-0 record this past week.

The first game of the day will feature Pittsburgh and Dayton at 9 AM. The 11 AM game will be Pittsburgh versus Loyola-Chicago. The Islanders take on Minnesota in the 3 PM game while Dayton plays Minnesota in the 3 PM game, the last of the day at Chapman Field. The Islanders and Loyola-Chicago will move over to Cabaniss Field to play under the lights at 7 PM.

The opening Saturday morning game will feature Minnesota vs. Loyola-Chicago, followed by Minnesota vs. Pittsburgh at 11 AM. The Islanders once again take part in the 3 PM as they take on Dayton in the 1 PM game, followed by Loyola-Chicago and Dayton at 3 PM. The Islanders once again play in the 7 PM game, this time hosting Pittsburgh at Cabaniss in TAMUCC's final game of the tournament.

The final day two games of the tournament will be an earlier start on Sunday to accommodate travel plans of the visiting teams. Loyola-Chicago will play Dayton in the 8 AM game with Minnesota and Pittsburgh finishing the tournament with a 10 AM game.

All day games will be played at Chapman Field on campus while the 7 PM games on both Saturday and Sunday will be played off campus at Cabaniss Field. TAMUCC students will be admitted for free with their SandDollar ID card. Individual tickets can be purchased for $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors (60 & over) and $3.00 for youth (17& under).
