The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Men's Tennis team will have players participating in the Rice Invitational this weekend, with play starting on Friday at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium in Houston. The tourney will feature several teams that were ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Top 75 a year ago.
Doubles action starts at 9 a.m. on Friday morning, with singles schedules for an hour later at 10 a.m.
The tournament will be comprised of players from host Rice, Texas Tech, Tulane, New Mexico and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi. All five of those teams were ranked in the ITA Top 75 the last four years in a row, with Texas Tech reaching all the way into the top 20 in each of those years.
Players compete individually in the tournament, going through a bracket to determine and champion for both singles and doubles play. The tournament runs from Friday to Sunday in Houston.
