Aurelien Tave Named GoIslanders.com Student-Athlete of the Week

CORPUS CHRISTI – Aurelien Tave of Texas A&M - Corpus Christi men's tennis has been named the GoIslanders.com Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Pepsi. Tave earned the award following his Southland Conference performance last week.

The senior from St. Gilles les Bain, Reunion Island clinched the Southland Conference regular season championship and No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament with his 6-4, 6-1 win over Rob Lee of Lamar on Thursday. He also won at No. 1 singles against first place Nicholls on Wednesday to put the Islanders in position to earn the No. 1 seed the next day.
 
He also went undefeated in doubles alongside teammate Peter Nagy in both matches as the Islanders played two of their best matches of the year when it counted the most.
 
The Islanders will begin play in the tournament on Friday, April 27 against UTSA in the first round. Should they earn a win over the Roadrunners, the men's team would then advance to the championship match at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
