The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis teams will hit the road once again for a week of tough road matches in Mississippi and Louisiana. The Islanders men will face the Southern Miss Golden Eagles on Tuesday afternoon in Hattiesburg, Miss., and then head back West for a doubleheader match alongside the women against Louisiana – Lafayette on Wednesday afternoon.
The men are 4-4 after suffering a hard-fought loss to No. 14 Texas on Sunday afternoon at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club. The Golden Eagles are 3-2 on the year, with both losses coming against SEC teams, while ULL enters the week with a 2-2 record. The Ragin Cajuns two losses have come against No. 5 Baylor and No. 11 Texas A&M on the road.
The women's team sits at 4-1 after a pair of wins over St. Mary's (Texas) last Friday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center. The ULL women are 1-4 on the year, with the win coming against Conference USA foe WAB.
Both teams will be in action against ULL on Wednesday, as the teams will play a men's and women's doubleheader at Cajun Courts on the campus of Louisiana – Lafayette.
Following the road trip, both teams will return for a doubleheader against Prairie View A&M on Sunday, Feb. 19, at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center. Match time for the tilt is set for 2 p.m., with the teams playing simultaneously on the 12-court facility.
